Travel: Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland

The Giants Causeway

(this makes me just want to get on a plane and go)

(and I barely like getting on a plane now lol)

When I first saw the pictures, I truely thought that this was man made somehow, but as you can read below, it totally was made by nature itself:

A result of volcanic eruption, Giant’s Causeway is made out of about 40,000 interlocked basalt columns. Almost all the columns have a hexagonal shape withe the highest one standing at 12 meters in length.

And look how blue the water is! Now this is a way to get back to nature. Go here if you want to clear your mind and be free.

How To Get To Belfast International Airport Northern Ireland

If your in NYC and want to travel to Belfast International Airport economy style (wouldn’t recomend it for such a long flight) the prices range from 800-1100 round trip. Business costs ranges are wider (and higher)  from 1800 to 10,000+ (what??? why?) For 9,00 more (highest rate, lowsest rate was 2100) you can go first class.

I used Kayak.com for my traveling needs most of the time to find rates, but Bing.com (Microsoft’s new web search tool) does a pretty good job too for being new.

Hapy travels! And tell them Being Grown and Sexy sent you.

The HighLine Park and Public Space

(I love it!!!)

Background Info Videos

You see this? This is why I like Architecture so much. This is why I am planning my return into the field (either that or getting into transportation and real estate… or maybe all 3, who can stop me? lol) I see the loss of these spaces all around the city. Stuff that can make NYC even more unique than it already is. I sometime morn the loss of some parts of our above ground elevated tracks that could have been something special. I think about the strip of unused elevated track owned by the LIRR/MTA that has now become a row of trees that cuts through queens and ask myself, “will they tear that down one day?”

Oh and you should see some of the buildings they have up already, and what is planned. Its just wonderful.

The High Line, ladies and gentlemen! Please remember to head over there when its finished AND take a look at the Friends Of The Highline website and don’t forget to look at the slide show.

A Very Interesting Commercial Website: Dr Pepper + Dr pepper Musuem

Dr Pepper Wallpaper 1970's

(its 2009! we got 32″ widescreeen LCD screens and standard 19″ CRT…)

(why don’t they make bigger wallpapers? lol)

Came across this site while browsing one of my favorite sneaker blogs (yes, I do collect sneakers, but I also collect mens shoes cause if your going to be grown AND sexy, you gotta have shoes lol) and decided i would click on one of their advertisments to support them and other such blah blah blah and it took me HERE to the Dr. Pepper website. Its pretty cool especially the falling soda into the glass. You gotta see it (requires Flash.. of which most computer in the US have almost by default).

What’s even cooler (to me at least) is that they also have a Dr Pepper Musuem (with website and all the fixins). Of course they have a blog (of which they actually update) and they also have a Twitter account (are big companies catching on as to how to use this stuff? maybe), a MySpace account, and a YouTube account.

I haven’t had a Dr. Pepper in years… maybe more than a decade. I will admit though, that this is the first time I have thought about actually getting one in a long time.

Interesting MTA Ad: Vitamin Water Train

Subway Vitamin Water Ad

(as seen on The Railfan Window Blog)

I already know they are taking the train ads to another level, but this is crazy. Well, actually its pretty cool. You just have to see the inside of the subway car cause that just makes it cooler.

They also did something cool with Atlantic Ave/Pacific Street too with MoMA

I don’t know if this would work on a normal subway train with 8 to 10 cars. If they did do it, they would have to keep it special and not do it on every FREAKIN train they have. I hope they don’t bow into pressure to do just that because it will definailty lower their ad rate and after a while NY’ers will just ignore it. Keep it special and they won’t be much of a way to ignore it at all.

Begin rant
And when exactly are they going to start using their website as a Web 2.0 portal to find shops, travel, pictures, and more? I think they are missing a grand opportunity turn turn a nice revenue for a site that most people would go to if the information on shops was there.
End Rant

Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubia Is Looking Good

For those of us who got that money, they may be interested in living or at least staying temporarily at this hotel/tower being built on what once was just ocean.  One living quarters (penthouse actually) in the tower is going for 30 Million. While that may sound like allot for many people, it will probably end up being a bargain for others willing to live and play on the new island of Palm Jumeriah at Dubai.

I don’t know if I would want to live there, but it looks like a great place to visit.

As seen on Luxist.com (another favorite site of mine to go to): Trump Plans $30 Million Dubai Penthouse

They have way more info and way more pics of other Trump projects so check it out.

Lets Travel: Worlds Largest Hotel On The Water

Now this is luxury!!!

I think this is something we all can get behind (as long as it floats and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg). I would love to travel more myself, but so far I haven’t… actually I never left the East Coast lol Now that is a pretty limited travel experience. I think we all should see what’s out there to see and feel that there are other ways of looking at things. Nt everything is a big city or a small town.

I would love to see the floor plans for this thing. Heck, I would love to see all of the architectural drawings drawings for this (including any videos). For more, head over to The.LIFE.Files
