I am very happy that they turned something that was sort of an eysore and part of NYC history into something we all can enjoy. I am so happy this park has opened (and its only half of what will open) that In the next few week I will personally photo/video the area including what I think will become a historic park.

Take a look at these pices from Curbed.com:

(awww man!!!!)

Gansevoort Woodlands

(I can not wait to go and take pics/video)

One day, they will finish the entire park and associated buildings along with it. It is sure to become one of the iconic places to visit when in NYC. The only problem I see with it is that so many people will come to see it that they will have to limit the amount of foot traffic on the elevated park. Here is someones take on the problems the park may have.

ALSO as the park becomes even more popular, there will be copy cats (and I think that GREAT!!!), not that this is a problem.

For more info head over to Curbed.com as well as Wikipedia (High Line NYC) and Flickr.com for more pics (like HERE and HERE) [SLIDESHOW].

I got something special planned with this so be sure to come back in 2 weeks!!!
